PCCI Peace Leadership Conference Kenya 2024

August 10, 2024

From July 30 to August 6, 2024, the Africa Peace Missions Institute (APMI), in partnership with CPI-Africa, Peacemakers Confessing Christ International (PCCI), the Dorcas Endowment Fund, and the Mennonite Church of Kenya, hosted the Peace Leadership Conference Kenya 2024 in Madiany, Siaya County. This transformative event brought together participants from diverse organizations and faith communities across Kenya and the globe, including representatives from Ethiopia, Malaysia, Morocco, Zimbabwe, the United States, and the Muslim communities of Somalia and Eastleigh, Nairobi.

Under the central theme of Interfaith Peace Leadership: Non-Violence Peacemaking and Fostering Interreligious Relationships, the conference emphasized Christian-Muslim relationships and collaborative approaches to peacebuilding. Renowned speakers, including Dr. Jonathan Bornman, Joseph Kwoma, Dr. Peter Sensenig, Andres Prins, and Patrick Obonde, shared impactful insights, presentations, and resources. They highlighted how PCCI partners are building bridges with their Muslim neighbors through witness, hospitality, and dialogue.

The event concluded with an interfaith church service led by Bishop from Tanzania Mennonite Church, Mwanza Diocese. The service inspired many attendees to deepen their faith, with several giving their lives to Christ. Following this, a five-day training on Principles of Non-Violence Peacemaking, led by Patrick Obonde and Dr. John O. Oloo, equipped faith leaders with practical tools to address challenges at the intersection of faith, leadership, and peace.

Peace Leadership Conference Kenya 2024 exemplified the power of unity, education, and dialogue in addressing complex global challenges. It stands as a beacon of hope and a call to action for communities worldwide to work together toward lasting peace.
